Documentation Required to Travel to China | VISA
It is the responsibility of each person attending the Congress to obtain a visa, if required, to travel to China.
We recommend that you apply for your visa early, the process can take up to several months. The Program Committee is not responsible for arranging visas and has no influence over their issuance. However, should you need an official invitation letter for visa application purposes, you may contact Congress staff who will provide a letter for you. You must include your name and address exactly as this information appears in your passport and send an email requesting an invitation letter.
No registration fee refunds will be issued for cancellation or non-attendance due to failure to obtain a visa. The Program Committee cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience resulting from non-observance or non-compliance with Chinese laws, rules and regulations related to visitor entry.
Visa Information for US Attendees
(1) As the United States is not currently included in China’s visa-free policy, U.S. citizens must apply for a visa to attend the conference.
(2) The application process and required documentation for a Chinese Tourist Visa (L Visa) are relatively straightforward, and refusals are uncommon. We recommend that attendees apply for an L Visa for entry.
(3) The Visit Visa (F Visa), for which some attendees have requested stamped invitation letters, involves a more complex application process and carries a higher risk of refusal compared to the L Visa.
(4) U.S. citizens may qualify for China’s 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy. With confirmed onward tickets to a third country/region, US attendees may enter China for tourism, business, visits, or family purposes for up to 10 days without a visa. For details, please refer to Section 4 below.
